MTA Cross Country Championship Meet 2018
Congratulations to Aliah Kingswood and Masika Sherbino who competed in the MTA cross country championships in Meaford this past weekend. Aliah placed 16th of 48 runners in the Tyke girls, and Masika placed 39th of 70 in the atom girls race. Both girls raced very well, despite the cold, windy, and snowy conditions. All results are displayed on the trackie.ca website.

The official results for the MTA provincial indoor championships held April 9th and 10th at York University have been posted on the MTA website.
BTFC had a total of 12 athletes compete over the weekend. Special congratulations to Naome E who won the bronze medal for the 400m Tyke Girls and to Emmet B who placed 4th overall in the Tyke Boys shot put. In addition to these medals, some of the BTFC athletes achieved personal bests. The coaches are extremely proud of all of the athletes who represented the club at the provincial championships are eagerly looking forward to an outstanding outdoor season.

BTFC members were out in full force at Sunday’s 34th annual Brantford Rotary Classic. The BTFC had a strong showing at the finish line for the 5K with 4 of its members finishing in the top 10. The AO group’s Noah Tinevez and Sean Mota secured the top 2 positions. BTFC coaches are proud of all the kids that ran today. All proceeds from the Rotary Classic go towards helping local children and other Rotary Club community projects.

MTA PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS (2014)
The 2014 Track season has come to a close for our MTA athletes. On Saturday July, 26th the Provincial Championships were held in Burlington and BTFC athletes performed very well recording 10 personal bests. Leading the way was Alekzander Jantz,(Mite Boy) who repeated as Provincial Champion in the Long Jump with a distance of 3.42m. Alekzander added a silver in the 200m in a time of 35.93. Kaitlyn Mitchell (Atom Girl) set two new personal bests, finishing 4th in the 400m (1:06.25) and 6th in the 800m (2:35.99), passing two competitors in the final stretch. Owen Protelli (Tyke Boy) set new PB's in both the 800m, finishing 11th (3:15.55) and the 1500m, 6th (6:54.28). Bennett Portelli (Mite Boy) lowered his all time best in the 100m finishing 6th (17.71). Bennett added a 9th place finish in the 200m (38.27). Sean Mota (Senior Boy), set a new personal best in the 1500m with his 10th place finish (4:58.75). Sean added a 17th place in the long jump (3.59m). Finley Windle (Pee Wee Girl) had a busy meet, competing in 3 events, recording PB's in 2 - finishing 6th in the Shot Put (2.84m) and 13th in the 200m (42.62). Finley added a 13th in the 100m (19.62). Nicholas Jantz (Tyke Boy) finished a very tight 5th (33.11) in the 200m, where .11 of a second separating 3rd - 5th. Nicholas added a 9th finish in the Long Jump (3.27m). Brody Graziano (Senior Boy) had two 13th place finishes in the Long Jump (3.84m) and the 400m (1:00.69). Vanessa Cazbon (Senior Girl) finished 33rd in a very deep 400m (1:13.75) field.

Leading the way was Alekzander Jantz,(Mite Boy) who repeated as Provincial Champion in the Long Jump with a distance of 3.42m. Alekzander added a silver in the 200m in a time of 35.93. Kaitlyn Mitchell (Atom Girl) set two new personal bests, finishing 4th in the 400m (1:06.25) and 6th in the 800m (2:35.99), passing two competitors in the final stretch. Owen Protelli (Tyke Boy) set new PB's in both the 800m, finishing 11th (3:15.55) and the 1500m, 6th (6:54.28). Bennett Portelli (Mite Boy) lowered his all time best in the 100m finishing 6th (17.71). Bennett added a 9th place finish in the 200m (38.27). Sean Mota (Senior Boy), set a new personal best in the 1500m with his 10th place finish (4:58.75). Sean added a 17th place in the long jump (3.59m). Finley Windle (Pee Wee Girl) had a busy meet, competing in 3 events, recording PB's in 2 - finishing 6th in the Shot Put (2.84m) and 13th in the 200m (42.62). Finley added a 13th in the 100m (19.62). Nicholas Jantz (Tyke Boy) finished a very tight 5th (33.11) in the 200m, where .11 of a second separating 3rd - 5th. Nicholas added a 9th finish in the Long Jump (3.27m). Brody Graziano (Senior Boy) had two 13th place finishes in the Long Jump (3.84m) and the 400m (1:00.69). Vanessa Cazbon (Senior Girl) finished 33rd in a very deep 400m (1:13.75) field.
FIVE PERSONAL BESTS REGISTERED AT MTA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Our MTA athletes recorded some impressive results at the MTA championships on June 28th in Hamilton. This included 5 personal bests. Leading the way was Tyke Girl Brodi Lewitt, who finished 2nd in the 100M and 4th in the Long Jump. Tyke Boy, Owen Protelli, finished 5th in the 1200M in a personal best 5:17. Owen added a 6th place finish in the 800M in a time of 3:26.96. Senior Boy, Tucker Almert raced to a PB in the 200M, finishing 7th in 26.34 and finished 6th in the Long Jump with a distance of 4.05M. Sean Mota, competing in the Sr Boys 1500M came away with the clubs 5th PB, finishing 2nd in a time of 5:03.00.
This meet also included several podium finishes for our atheletes. Tyke Boy, Nicholas Jantz, picked up two Silver Medals in the 200M (31.50) and Long Jump (3.51M). Alekzander Jantz also claimed two silvers in the Mite Boys 200M (36.12) and Long Jump (3.03M). Senior Girl, Hali Bell, won bronze in the 100M and finished a close 4th in the 200M. Kaitlyn Mitchell, won silver in the Atom Girls 400M (66.31) and finished 6th in the 800M (2:45.00). Aaron Fabi won bronze in the Atom Boys, 400M (1:09.14) and 5th in the 800M (2:40.37). Mite Boy, Bennett Portelli, finished 3rd in the 200M and 5th in the 100M. Atom Girl, Sarah Moore, finished a very strong 5th in the 1500M in a time of 6:08.

Gold for club athletes at Brant County T & F Meet & new record!
We had a number of club athletes competing at the Elementary Brant
County track and field championships. Tucker Almert came home with 4 gold
medals and 1 new record in the 400m running a time of 1:04. Alex Devries won the 800m and 1500m. Jordon1st 100m, 200m and 400m and Keegan 2nd in the 1500m and 3rd in the 800m
